Week One

Odd enough, after a gap year and being online it feels comforting to be back in person. I had a hand full of different classes this week and they all seem alright. I can't say much more than that until I experience more of them. Before coming back to school I worked full time at Panera, I would work 6-2's, 7-3's, 8-4's and I was miserable. I felt as if I wasn't living the life a 19 year old girl should be living. I didn't want to wake up, work, come home, eat, sleep and then do it all again anymore. It was tiring, I felt trapped. I wanted to be able to experience the things I was supposed to at this age like football games, friends, a social life, literally anything I want to do now? I can do it after class. Class is like having a job BUT I will say i'd much rather come back to school than work right now. I can work once I've gotten my degree, and found my dream job. Being back at school makes me feel as if a gigantic weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I know I won't be saying that once I get flooded with assignments and stress but I can manage. Purdue does a great job of making their students feel involved and supported. I was walking through campus to class today, and they had so much free stuff, clubs, and even free food. Sad to say, I couldn't stop for any of it because I had to get to the other side of campus within minutes but it seemed like a grand ol' time. It seems as if it's going to be a good year, and I will continue to believe that.

  1. Hi Meagan,
That is great to hear that you decided to come back to school after taking a short break. Hopefully you enjoy it and take the time to decide what you really want to do! That is too bad to hear though that you were unable to stop at the welcome rally, it really was a great time.

  2. It's wonderful you're back to school. I totally get how you felt when you were just working a restaurant job. I spent all of last spring working after graduating high school a semester early. I love your positive outlook on the school year and 100% agree with it!
